Race The Lake
2016 will mark the 3rd Annual Race the Lake on Saturday, June 11, 2016
Our 3rd annual race will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016.
The 26.2 Race will begin at 8:00am.
The 13.1 race will begin at 9:30am.
The 26.2 will start and end at The Clark Sports Center. The 13.1 race will start in Springfield at the A. Doubleday Campground, where they’ll join with the marathon runners. Both races will finish together at The Clark Sports Center.
Individual registration on or before Tuesday, June 9: $65
Individual registration on or before Tuesday, June 9: $55
Entrants who pre-register by May 15 will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Entrants registering on the day of the race will receive a T-shirt if available.
TBD – Awards will be determined prior to race day based on the number of competitors.
Event Schedule and Times
Friday, June 10
10:00am–6:00pm • Bags may be picked up at The Clark Sports Center.
Saturday, June 11
6:30–7:30am • Day of registration and Marathon bag pick-up
8:00am • Marathon start
8:00-9:00am • Half-marathon bag pick-up at Doubleday Campground
8:15am • 13.1 Race Competitors will be bused to Doubleday Campground
9:30am • 13.1 Half-marathon race will begin at Doubleday Campground
Shuttles will take 13.1 race runners from The Clark Sports Center to Doubleday Campground starting at 8:15am.
The Race will circle clockwise around the picturesque Otsego Lake. Runners will travel through Cooperstown, Springfield, Middlefield and the Town of Otsego. You will have views of the lake almost all the way as you pass Glimmerglass Opera, The Farmers Museum, The Otesaga Resort Hotel and several other landmarks. Both of the races will be challenging, not only for the mileage, but also the elevation changes. It’s the perfect setting for a marathon!
All runners must have a Clark Sports Center waiver form on file. Children 18 and under must have this waiver signed by a parent. Waivers will be available on Race Day or can be downloaded and printed from our site (PDF, 90kb).
