Cooperstown Artisan Festival

Cooperstown Artisan Festival

Labor Day Weekend 2017

September 2 & 3

At the Otsego County Campus

Main Street, Cooperstown

The first annual Cooperstown Artisan Festival, which will feature artisans, crafters and makers from throughout the region, will take place Saturday, September 2, and Sunday, September 3, on the lawn of the Otsego County Office Building in downtown Cooperstown.

Entertainment and activities will take place between Pine Boulevard and Bruce Hall parking lot on Upper Main Street.  Open to the general public, this show will feature artisans that have been carefully selected to show and sell their handcrafted work.  Craft demonstrations will be ongoing throughout the weekend, and on-site training classes for both adults and children will be offered.

Revenue generated from the Cooperstown Artisan Festival will be used to start a new mini-grant program through the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce for businesses looking to improve and update their buildings.

The Leatherstocking Brush and Palette Club held a successful arts and crafts show for 47 years. After the last event in 2013, the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce began receiving inquiries about hosting a similar event. In response, the Chamber has worked with members of the Leatherstocking Brush and Palette Club, the Village of Cooperstown, and the Otsego County Board of Representatives to establish the Cooperstown Artisan Festival.

“Growing up in Cooperstown, the arts and crafts show was something my family looked forward to every year,” said Matt Hazzard, Executive Director for the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce. “Establishing the Cooperstown Artisan Festival allows us to offer the community a weekend of family-friendly activities while celebrating our many local artisans and supporting local business.”

All interested vendors should contact the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce’s office at (607) 547-9983 or via email at to participate in this event.  Vendor applications will be available on in the coming weeks.
